Family Portraits

After several months of procrastination, I eventually got round to organising a portrait shoot for my good friend Al Boyle, his wife Melissa and lovely girls Abigail (3) and Jessica.

The choice of location was a last minute compromise to seek shelter from the strong north-westerly that had increased during the day. Unfortunately, this meant that I wasn’t able to utilise the sun as a back-light as I had planned. Of course, when photographing children, it’s important to work as quickly as possible, therefore, I kept the lighting setup simple; single flash, through a white brolly (always works well).

The results aren’t too bad. (click on the photos to enlarge).
